Wife wants a pair of breeding Clownfish. Does anyone have a preferred source?

Not sure yet which type but knowing her she will want something rare. lol

Any advice, leads etc will be appreciated. I am guessing this is not a LFS sort of thing.

I feel like "breeding" pairs command a stupid retail price. Your best bet is just pair them up yourself. Get a large clown and a small one and bam you have babies. I had a large female true perc for 1.5 years, added a small juvi and within a month they were laying clutches regularly.

Yea...thats my understanding as well. However this does not stop my wife from the whole "they are cute! I want a pair honey" and "we can just get three right?"

Oh and she doesn't want just any pair...what she likes are of course, the most bloody expensive ones on the planet.

This weekend is the SCRK meeting at Age of Aquariums in Signal Hill. A lightning maroon clown will be raffled off.

That's cool. Going to be out of town this weekend though.
I don't mind buying at a few hundred per fish.
Some of the prices I saw were a few thousand per fish and that seems a bit over the top.

EDIT: I have not yet done a compatibility work up on Lightning Maroons. I will though to be sure. Never introduce anything without making sure it will play nice and not eat its tank mates.
