Got the approval yesterday to upgrade to 10x2.5x2. My skimmer is rated 500g light load so not needing to upgrade that but wondering from the big dogs what equipment you would use. Quality equipment is gonna be purchased not budget equipment. And also would you go glass or acrylic?

OH wow, that's going to be an awesome build.
What type of lighting?
I wonder if 2 MP60s would be enough flow.
I wonder if any of the glass manufacturers would build something that large. If so, go glass, it'll be so much easier to clean.

That's what my concern was as I prefer glass over acrylic.

Quality lighting. Steel stand. Ask eMac about the riptide after he tries it out. Go glass. Let me know if you need help when you get that beast!

I would go Acrylic over glass at a tank that size... Lighter....Stronger...Clearer.....

Is glass easier to clean ??? Now that I have acrylic, I would say no to that question... You just need the right equipment to do the job on Acrylic. I can honestly say after 6 months of use, I have 0 scratches. Also love the look over Glass. I.M.O.

I personally like glass look over acrylic. To each his own. I do know acrylic is easier to scratch. Glass you don't have to be so careful. I'm gonna try and have 3 different rock scapes incorporated in the tank. A small section like most have that had the center islands (at least I call them that) the mountain side like I have now and then the flat plateau look some others have. I think it would be cool to get all the looks in it. I have a bm nac9 skimmer that is rated 385 heavy bioload and 500 light load. I'll use it and see how it keeps up. It keeps my nitrates at 0 right now on my 180. Was thinking 6 t5s front to back with led strip in between for shimmer and pop. Steel stand and not sure if I'll run a canopy or not.

I don't see a nac9 being ok for a tank that size, unless u don't plan on having a lot of fish. Your gunna need something ALOT bigger if u plan on having a good amount of fish.

Ur only planning on running 6-80w t6s and one led strip?

No it would be 12. I'm just saying 6 front to back length of the tank with leds in between each row of t5s. I planned on just transferring the fish I have. all are nano fish other then my 4 tangs.
