So a couple months ago I bought a small 2x2 frag of GSP. It came as it was, not glued on a rock or anything. I left it on the sandbed for months and it would grow downwards curling down and inward but it was slow and it stayed roughly the same size. My question is, will it grow faster and cover a rock if I glued it on the rock? Are they usually left on the sandbed?

2nd question: I have a maxi mini anemone roughly 3-4" in diameter when fully open. I've heard people slice them in half and they'll heal itself and I've also heard they will split naturally. Should I leave it alone? Under what conditions will it split? Thank you so much!

First yes if u glue the GSP to the rock they should do better. If they don't grow better on a rock then u have a or some parameters off. GSPs r a weed and will take over fast. My little patch has put about 4" on it in the last 2 months.
Now propagating nems is not as easy as it sounds. They need to cut right through the mouth and its a lot easier if u can the nem off the rock and use a glass cutting board to cut it on. Also nems are acceptable to catch an infection when they split or cut. I use sipro to prevent the nem to catch an infection.
Usually bad water parameters will cause an anemone to split. It's there Survival mechanism they split to have a better chance to survive in numbers. Try an alkalinity spike in your water parameters it should cause a split. ((((Warning tho)))) do this at your own risk u can cause other thing to die and have a tank crash. In the right conditions an anemone will live hundreds apon thousands of years with out splitting.
