Hey guys, I just bought a big piece of GSP.. roughly 4-4.5'' for $20 (Which I think is a good deal) I put it in my tank, and it's been about a day now, and they still haven't opened up. My tank is also really hot, because I don't have a chiller or anything like that. I'm just using frozen bottles of water right now. Is this okay? And did I get a good deal on my GSP? :help:

how hot is your tank. definitely that's a major issue. it might get melted. check your temp and use fan to cool it. you dont need chiller if your tank is not too big. fan should be ok. I am using fan too.

@ Jamescob22 Thanks alot, I'll wait a few more days then
@jediluke My temp is around 82-83 degrees. Is that too hot??
Temperature is a little on the high side, but fine. If you bought it on-line it may take a few days to open up. Mine opened up on the same day when I got it from a Local Fish Store. But the more healthy it is the quicker it will open.

yeah 82~83 is little high but not too hot. but you want to keep it under 80.
just give some more days to be opened. mine opened right after I put it in my tank.
maybe your water parameter. do you have any other livestocks in your tank? how they are doing? if they are ok GSP should be ok. GSP is pretty hardy.

I have a clownfish, a cleaner wrasse, and a 6-lined wrasse. Along with a brain coral, pulsating xenia frags, and a mushroom rock. They're all doing fine, just my GSP isn't opening, so I was kind of concerned.
