well, here it is! i'm far enough to where i can actually make a thread. all that is left so far is buy powerheads, chaeto for the sump, black background, etc..., and then just wait for the cycle and buy live stock. but all in due time.

how yesterday started out.


"live rock"


"live sand"


the sand had a bunch of rocks in it, so i used some egg crate to strain it.

after about 4 hours later, finished around 8pm


"live rock" left for the sump


this morning


right now, their is 20lbs of dead rock 25 lbs of live rock in the tank and about 30 lbs of live rock inside the sump.

any help or tips is greatly appreciated.

kinda late now but I always paint the backs of my tanks...never been a fan of the stupid background you stick to the back of the tank..i just spray paint the s$%# out of it then clear coat it to seal them

Looking good so far.....i like cubes

update: picked up another 40 lbs of live rock and switched out the 150w MH for a white/actinic PC light fixture. the MH was just too bright!!

what do you guys think? should i put the rock work further back? and where should i put the power heads?
