I recently returned from work to discover that my hammer coral frag had been knocked off the rocks and was lying face down in the sand. I used to have full extension/inflation/whatever the correct term is, but since then (two days ago), it has not. Is this normal? There was quite a bit of mucus buildup on it when I set it back in place. Thanks everyone.

The only thing that kills my hammer is when a mushroom coral touches it for some time. Of course lack of light and other essential things will too, lol.

It's happened to me plenty of times. I have some of kevin's hammers and these things are almost bullet proof. Post some pics so we could check them out

Sorry guys, but this is about the best picture I can get with my phone... 2012-04-28_17-57-43_429.jpg The green algae is a different story, which I have already asked about on the 'algae' forum.
