There is a problem with Hanna reagent and you can verify if you have a problem lot and get replacement through:

https://hannainst.wufoo.com/forms/w1hzjs2j1b4ejyu/

You can also call hanna and speak with their technical department as well but if you want them to send you a replacement, then you need to go to the website listed and complete their form.

there is a large thread on the other forum regarding this.

When I spoke with Hanna technical, he stated the problem is with the screw lid top. When the reagent is placed on its side and the liquid comes into contact with the screw lid top, it adversely effects the reagent.

He stated that if you store your bottle on its side and it has been opened, it is likely adversely effected and problematic. If you store it upright, then you are likely ok. If you have an unopened bottle, then the foil seal is protecting it from the cap and it is ok, just keep it upright once you open it. They are making new bottles with the screw top lid having a different liner in it.

I just got two new bottles yesterday and both are on the recall list!!!

Or maybe they use other test kits like the cheapo $3.99 API for me. :)

Great info though. Thanks for sharing

I did not know about it thanks, I will be getting my new reagent soon now as mine was on that list.
I am not sure but imagine that most if not all lots will be on the recall. I was told the problem was with the screw top liner so unless they have used different screw top liners, this very likely is a universal problem at least, if you lay your opened bottle on its side. But it is easy to confirm by checking your lot number on the website.
