We all know SPS are high maintenance in terms of water quality, lighting, flow etc...
But in your experience, which sps have you found to be the hardiest?

Digi and Monti Caps are the easiest. Bird's Nest is also pretty easy... well at least Pink Bird's Nest and Green Bird's Nest are.

Curious, how low did your alk drop?

monti's for sure, especially red monti. green slimer is pretty hardy also. one of my favorite corals since it grows so fast and is very vibrant in color.

Green Slimer , it survived the move, 85 + degrees, 100+ ppm of Nitrate after my move to Irvine.

Also I have extra pieces of them Im willing to sell for good price...3 inch for $10.00 for example.

I have this cali tort that has lived through alk spikes like 16 dkh where I lost most of my sps except my tort. I find that older generation of tank raised corals seem to do good.

+1 on the birdsnest... my whole colonies have fallen, broken, left out in the dry and every where in my tank and i have never lost a frag...

all montipora's are pretty hard... but i think the most sensetive monti is purple haze... i can't keep that dude happy... it always bleaches and comes back to life... setosa is a good buy...

my cali tort is the only acro that has never given me problems... also my oregon tort... when all of my staghorns took a sh*t those somehow survived...

tank overheated when my central AC let the house get hot...

You all can laugh at me if you like, but I'm gonna say my Oregon tort is bulletproof.

Dropped through euphyllia and sat in sinularia when I first got it. Half the frag survived. Since then, alk swings, high nutrients, vodka overdose, you name it, I've done it. Never dies, never changes color, never fades, never STN's or RTN's. Even AEFW wouldn't touch it, when they devoured most others.

It grows slow, is my only complaint.

lol, my green slimer STN'd, but was on it's way out when I got it.

IME monti's are very very hardy. I have a scripp's stag acro that has been with me in every tank I've had--my very first SPS and I had a frag shipped out here when I moved.

I have had the most success with the ORA Birdnests, pink, green, Bird of Paradise...best growing, no bleaching, all around hardiest IME. For some reason, my monti caps sometimes bleach a bit from the edge inward, then stop and regrow over the bleached skeleton. That loses my "hardiest" vote right there.
