Hey there,

New to the site and new to sw tanks. Below are some pics of my current tank and stuff I have in there. Will have more soon. Will be doing some reefscaping in the near future.

I would have liked to get an S-Series tank, but he price tag that they have was outside my ability at this time. I figured I would get this one as a nice starter tank until such time as I can afford the larger, nicer systems. That is if I don't decide to put together a system of my own design.

Tank looks great. got to love the plug and play tanks, but there is just something about putting together your own design for a tank. Cant wait to see more pics! And Welcome to Socalireefs

After waiting for the water to finally clear up, I did some reefscaping (albeit very, very slowly) until I got the below shot:

nice rockscape. what kind of sand are you running?

I am using Natures Ocean White Live-Sand. Put in three bags (60lbs). I am finding out that it is a bit too fine for the tank. If I knew then what I know now, I would have chosen a different, more course sand/substrate for the tank.

yeah, i hear ya. looks really nice but might cloud up your tank a bit more than other sands. i'm going with fiji pink for my current build. not too fine and not too course either.

I liked that at first, but my GF thought the whiter the better, so we went with the finer grade. Big mistake!! Next time I may have to listen to the little voices in my head instead of her...LOL!!!!
