strawberry anemone are coldwater... they would just die in our systems...


it's not a dendro, and it's not a rhizo... so it's a balano...

I know they're cold water. Still looks pretty close to it though. I've wanted to set up a cold water tank for a while now every since I saw them at the Long Beach Aquarium. They have huge colonies of them there and they;re absolutely beautiful!

This is a friends tank. He got it while diving. It's not a strawberry anemone because those are all soft coral and I've seen them many many times while diving myself. He said this caught his eye cuz it has a hard stony skeleton like a dendro but clearly it's not. Yes it is a "cold water" coral but he said it was 71 degrees when he got it

do a google search for balanophyllia... my book says that balanophyllia elegans is kinda cold water... it goes up to baja california... so it could be that...


GOOGLE IT!... i'm always right...
