Hello to the socalireef community! My name is Eric though I'm new to the forum I'm not a stranger to a couple of you. I've been constantly referred to join this online community and I finally decided to do so (afterall, I don't mind discussing reefs and aquariums all day every day).
Although I'm relatively new to reef aquariums I've kept aquariums since I was 6. From brackish, planted and cichlids I made my jump to reefs. I've done pretty well so far but I think it might have something to do with my biology background too (I'm a biology major specializing in neurology). Because of my being in school I currently run a small 30g organic biocube. For equipment I'm using a custom glass sump I made that holds 20g, a bubble magus 3, green killing machine 23w UV sterilizer, and a sicce 2.0 as my return pump. My overheads are 2 koralia nano 250. For lighting I'm currently running a retrofit t5 along with 2 ecoxotic stunner leds but I'm saving up for a maxspect razor 160w. My tank is pretty much covered in coral lol but you can never have enough right? Livestock consists of pretty much LPS with just a bit of SPS. Other than my nano reef. I also have a 100g malawi cichlid tank.

Welcome Eric. I'm Ron, I run a local fish shop with my partner in HB. We have mostly higher end coral frags but also have rodi and reef crystals if you ever need some H2O...

That's awesome! Lol was that the show where they presented a bunch of myths and speculations with actors portraying real scientists? That show was cool got a bunch of ppl all worked up
