Hi everyone, my name is Karisa and I am new to actually using forums (instead of just lurking), so bear with me please.
A little about me, I currently live in Huntington Beach. Growing up I always had freshwater fish tanks, but started my first saltwater tank with my uncle when I was in high school (about 5 years ago)--that was the last time I had a tank. It wasn't until this year that I decided to get back into the hobby, because the guy I'm dating also use to have saltwater tanks (7 years of saltwater experience) and now we have our own tank together.
So on to the tank... It is a 17 gallon nano cube, with a 5 gallon display refugium attached (cut a hole on the side and ran pvc pipes to connect it to the main tank). An eshopp's hang on psk-75h protein skimmer, kessil lighting, a hydor koralia pump and a marine land maxi-jet powerhead.
In the tank we have a pair of midnight clownfish, goby with a pistol shrimp, a dragon face pipefish, and we just got a pair of Wyoming white clownfish as well. We also have various soft and hard coral, bubble tip anemones, and sponges. The refugium is stocked tunicates, gorgonia, and various macroalgae.
In this hobby we know there is always more to learn so any advice or suggestions is very much appreciated!
Here are some pictures of our tank!
