Hi everyone,

Happy to join SoCaliReefs. I was referred to you guys by a customer of ours named Eric. I do not know his username but I know he's out there somewhere on the forums.
My name is Josh. I just took over Daryl's Pet Shop here in Redlands and one of the big To-Dos on my list was to make sure we got back into marine aquaria. I'm happy to report our saltwater offerings are growing week by week!
I hope to learn a lot about this hobby as my experience is limited at best. I also hope to meet some of you IRL here at the shop.
Thanks for having me!

Josh

I would love to check it out. I work in Redlands and usually go to Pet World to check out the fauna. I also go to flame broiler all the time and work 5 minutes from there.

Welcome josh, hi I'm also Eric but I live in yucaipa
But I would like to offer u a word of advice. Eric might not of explains this to u.
Here would not be a good place to promote the store, unless (a big unless) u become a sponsor here. Sponsor pay money here to advertise there business and a non sponser posting would most likely p*** some people off.
But if your interested in learning the hobby and how to keep specimen alive and healthy this is a great place to learn.

Daryls was the shop I always shopped at when I was a noob. I really couldn't say I learned a lot from them but I did spend a but load of cash there. I think that's what killed the hobby in Redlands was the old owners kept there customers stupid so they could keep buying. And after so many times of things dyeing people got feed up with the hobby. So I highly recommend u be informed and keep the customer informed and happy not stupid and hope they just keep buying.

Thanks for the tips and warm welcome everyone. I did try to find info on how to become a sponsor but couldn't find the pricing... Feel free to link me to the info page!
I'm not here to promote the shop but rather to learn. I figured it was best to be honest about my ownership of the shop and how that has brought me to the hobby. An unusual path to reefkeeping I'm sure but it is what it is!
My aim is to learn all I can and pass on all I can to my customers and fellow hobbyists.
