Hi guys, New to the hobby just started a couple of months ago first actual post :proud: Hope you all can help. I acquired a "established" CPR Aquafuge2 HOB refugium w/built in skimmer from a friend a couple days ago. I noticed a few small nemone looking things asked my friend and he said not to worry about them. Last night after i turned on refugium light and looked inside i noticed they are all over the place in my chaeto and on the walls all over skimmer and to fairly large ones. ? is this good and are they good to have in there???:dontknow: im new to all this but from what ive read my hunch is not good. Thinking about tearing it all down cleaning up and getting new mud and chaeto and stuff in there. Going to try and post some pics. Thank you all in advance. Sorry long winded im new first actuall post LOL

Yeah..you should tear it down and get rid of them before they take over your main display

Tear it down & clean it up. Those spread like wild fire. hopefully none got into your main tank.

if you do notice some in your tank, peppermint shrimp will tank care of them.

+1 on peppermints, They would be fine if they stayed in the sump, because they eat nitrates, but those suckers never stay where you want them, they will eventually enter in to your display tank, " don't put peppermint shrimps together with Acan's that you feed mysis to, because acans take longer to consume food than shrimps, and when those shrimps get hungry again they WILL rip food out of the belly of your acans!!!!! seen it with my own eye's!!!!

Yup. I had a cleaner shrimp who was such an aggressive eater, I decided to give him away so I did not have to use feeding domes when feeding my acans and fungia. I really like shrimp, but that one was annoying.

Thank-you all guys for the in put. I greatly appreciate it all. I brought my son to Disneyland for a few hours. Think I might go peppermint shrimp route as I have to in my main tank. I will update later. Thank-you all once again.
