So i bought this acan 3 days ago and it hasnt opened up all the which i wasnt worried about because i know corals take little time to adjust but to i came home and it is starting to die off. My water is perfect, my sps corals are growing like crazy. At first i thought it wasnt opening because of the lighting(54w par 38) so i moved the fixture up about 4 inches and aimmed it so it wasnt pointed directly at the acan that didnt help. so ow i have it down in the sand in a bit of shaded area that gets medium to high flow. Any advice would appreciated. thanks

post your water parameters, mine never opened up since I had a big bio load, once I moved them to my frag tank they started to get a lot better.

Your testing the wrong things. Those aren't bad to test for but the main 3 tests are alk, mag & cal. All the rest are less important. And also acans and lps like a little but dirtier water than sps.

sps and lps are two different water parameters lps like higher po4 and no3 than sps there probably isn't enough nutrients in the system I have some LPS fauna marin food and I have some samples as well and if you come into the shop I can hook it up with some free samples and give you a demo but having lps and sps in the same system is a challenge and not a easy task I would test ca alk and mag also po4 no3 and try to find a happy medium good luck pm me with any questions you may have

Hey Austin. How long has your tank been set up. Have any of the Colors changed recently. Has it been next to other corals?

It was near a small colony off white Pom Pom Xenia but I made sure they weren't with in reach of getting touched by them, and no color changes except that white part in the picture
