I don't see any, will recheck later tonight. I do have a coral beauty I'm wondering might have picked at it... Do tangs eat clams? I didn't think so...

I had 3 look like that and die a couple months ago. My alk was crazy high, I think like 12-14.

what you can do is cut the bottom off a 1 L Pepsi or coke bottle and put over clam add food to the top of the open container and let the clam filter feed the food in the water in his own time fortify the coral food with a amino acid (coral frenzy or something similar) do not spot feed it will aggravates the clam

That sucks it looks pretty bad... doesn't look like pinched mantle disease. I suspect the coral beauty might be the culprit. Hopefully it pulls through!

I had a Bi-Color Blenny that ended up being the culprit for the death a Maxima Clam. Came out one evening and saw that little SOB diving in to the clam and tearing at the mantle. I've told several people and I think they all think I am crazy! But ever since I removed the Bi-Color, I have added another clam with absolutely no issues.

Best of luck!
