No3 is whats causing your problem. Po4 is also your culprit too. Evn though 9ts low, more then likely its higher since the slime/bacteria have not had time to fully consume the nutrients.

WC to start, maybe twice a week at 10% to slowly drop your nutrient.

Cut down on your feeding.

Long term, run some type of nutrient export media. Persistent wkly WC..

Bouncingsoul393 yea you just need to adjust the flow right n have the right amount of pellets n gfo. The algae scrubber is three weeks old growing good Cus I want to pull gfo n pellets to export through algae scrubber but scared to though Cus I have a big bio load all small fish though.
newtothis my pellets are established n replace maybe a half a spoon or teaspoon every month.

I'm worried that this stuff is the coral slime killer I've read about on a post. Corals haven't died yet it happen first on sps tissue that died Cus of frogspawn n maybe spread hmmm

If it's anything like what you see in the link below, then proceed down to what I did to eradicate it.

https://www.google.com/search?q=cya...bih=456#tbm=isch&q=cyanobacteria+in+reef+tank

I have tried two different methods, chemical and natural/biological. The chemical method which was chemiclean only masked the problem like James said, for a few weeks. Then I got myself a red and blue bulb off amazon and a big chunk of chaeto and ran the fuge for 12 hours when my main display lights are off. Oh and I also increased the flow/pressure coming from my return and now it's been months since i last saw that nasty slime.

That is all and don't anyone say I don't help on this crappy forum..lmao...j/k...or am I.. lmao <--- don't take it personal anyone but that is how I am going to finish off all my helpful posts from now on...lmao..j/k...or am i? rofl

I guess I should have explained myself better. My thought was not how to run them together but an amazement that you were running all together for one thing, and that you could still have any detectable nitrates as the other thing. Probably need to cut back on feeding and photo period, make sure to are only using 0 tds ro/di water for the tank.

I am no expert, many years ago I had a bad cyano problem. You have to get rid of what you have existing in the tank. Cyano is a prehistoric algae and once started doesn't take much to thrive. I too turned my display lights off and used a chemical to kill it but increased my water circulation. Try to eliminate any dead areas in your tank. I would guess you could introduce cyano by adding a rock or coral infected with even a small amount. I don't think it will ever go away by itself. Anyway I hope you can cure it before you get discouraged and try to start over. Good luck
