I got home to this...my most expensive acan frag all covered in white/transparent slime. All other corals appear fine. I've seen my peppermint shrimp attacking an acan before so I'm wondering if that's what happened during lights out. What do I do now? Thanks!

That white slime looks like the stuff from a worm, the worm probably killed something and the shrimp was eating the left over. Forgot the name of the worm but its a bad one and hard to catch. Just my guess though.

Peppermints can and will attack acans definitely after a feeding to the acan.. Move the acan away or protect it somehow and it will heal.

Yes they will take the food from the acan but they wouldnt attack the acan itself and I dont think the shrimp or the acan would leave that white slime behind.

I have also seen a peppermint eat an acan. Which is why that's what I suspect has happened again. I've never seen so much slime though! Also of note...I do see the shrimp lurking around so I might just trap him and re-home him in the sump.
