Help with skimmer decision on a Carfiff 27 gallon aquarium

So I traded a tank for a Cardiff but the skimmer it came with was cracked and crap from what I have read. I do, however, have these two skimmers laying around in my garage:

I've never used one of these before... collection cup seems awfully small. afraid to make a mess from an overflow.

I used the aquaone on a 75 with good success. I like the adapter to allow the skim to flow out the collection cup into a 5 gallon bucket as well as the knobs to adjust flow, however, this thing is pretty large and would require me to move the tank 8" from the wall to accommodate the size.




Im looking at purchasing the tunze nano skimmer or the innovative marine skimate midsize nano skimmer down the road. I'm just looking for opinions on the two i have for now preferably from someone who has used these skimmers before.
