Hi newbie here. Only 4 months in. Can anyone tell me what this is and why i have it.? Is it good or bad and how do i get rid of it?

It can be in your tank go a number if reasons. Even great reefers can get it. I don't get cyano but when I do I by red slime remover it works quickly just read directions pretty sure uv had 2 be off and skimmer goes nuts. I just leave my skimmer on and take the cup off during the treatment.

I had it in the beginning too. It's prbly the phosphates from the live rock. Best bet is to siphon it off when you do a water change
