If you don't want to use all your old sand, in my opinion the best thing to do is just to save a small amount of the old to help seed the new sand.

save as much water as you can. fill 5g buckets of water with your fish. same for rock and coral. transfer tank, then add rock fish and coral back in. remove the sand completely, wash it out and dry it out completely. you can add it back in a few weeks when your tank has calmed down. the live rock you have is enough to seed the tank. you should still see a mini cycle either way.

This is not correct. There is no reason you should see any ammonia or "mini cycle" unless something is dead or dying. If you remove 90% of the water without disturbing the sand bed, discard all the water that's with the disturbed sand, where is the ammonia source? If live rock is kept moist with towels and it's done right there should be zero issues.

I would transfer as much water as possible in buckets as suggested. As far as the sand goes I would rinse it extremely well before putting it back in the tank, I don't think you need to let it dry out but a good rinse with RODI then tank water will probably be fine. This is all assuming you have a relatively shallow sand bed.

How is that not correct? Anytime you remove rock from water it immediately starts to die off. It's almost impossible not to disturb something. It might be quick, not saying it would take weeks but your tank is always cycling. It never stops
