Looks legit! Great looking HG. It has all the characteristics of ASD type. You can see the correct Blue tips with the green base with yellow stripes on the tentacles, it meets all criteria. The photo isn’t great, but it looks like this HG torch has good saturation as the torch looks inflated and is holding strong color. I would guess that this lineage would be very bright. GLWS!

Thanks Peppy I don’t have the knowledge that most Reefers have with High end corals. I just have to much extra money that I spend on High end corals. This is a very nice Legitimate holy grail for $900

Yeah I’ve been getting seriously into torches lately and the problem I find is that vendors sure like to name things, but they don’t back up the name with any characteristics or standard. When we ask what’s the lineage, all that we are saying is that we trust that a bunch of people saw a particular coral from a vendor and found it to be extraordinary. The problem is there is no way to trust that even a coral coming from a particular vendor is really from the same lineage. Also there is nothing that says the named coral is the best lineage of its type. Quite frankly I’m sure there are many corals in many peoples tanks and in the wild that are superior in many ways. I wish people would stop naming things without giving standards to measure them by. IMHO I think the ASD style HG is totally worth the hype. I have two types myself that I love! One type is the usual green base, with yellow stripes and dark blue tips and another one that is almost identical but has a blue stripe at base of the tentacle or septa.

Yes, do your research and you will find that the ASD type HG is the most coveted for a reason. The one being sold here looks to meet all the criteria. Looks like a fine specimen. Good price also. When I was looking for mine they were going for outrageous prices as listed by some vendors like 2k etc. I think the current market rate for ASD type holy grail is about 1k-1200 for a healthy moderate sized specimen. As with all torches always flip the torch and make sure to check the meat at the base. Judging by the plump tentacles I would guess that the meat on the base on this one should be good but you should ask to see it when your ready to buy.
