How's everyone tank with the humidity? I don't have central air and is only relying on clip-on fan triggered by my rkl, blowing over the water surface. So far so good at a stable 78 degree .

Hows everyone method if keeping the temp down?

I froze a few water bottles just in case, tank is managing though. I don't want to bring out the chiller unless I absolutely have to

Yup. I vented it with fan blowing air out the roof and a side vent blowing air in but, it's still hot. Next step might be to AC the garage.
That must be a challenge and summer struggle. Hope it all work out for you or atleast get relief from this dam heat..

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if a bigger chiller produces more heat? Like does a 3/4 HP produce more heat than a 1/4HP?
More heat and more power consumption. Have you thought bout (if you havnt already) place the chiller externally from the garage and plumb it back into the garage? For sure this will eliminate the heat from the chiller when it does turn on..

Not really an option with my current chiller. It's a drop in and its needs to be close to reach the water. I can buy another bigger, in-line, but then I would need to redo the pipes, buy an expensive chiller, and I would need to vent it out somehow. I think insulating and buying a stand alone AC might be the most cost effective and easiest.

You have a chiller why not install it before plan 'A' fail. Always good to have a backup plan if you have the option.

Hot and humid...that what she said

If it does fan does fail, itll be an easy fix. Chiller on the other had, would cause more heat then I want .

The current location of your tank right now doesn't seem like it's getting direct sunlight. It's mostly shaded off by your neighbor.

Don't you have solar? Just run the a/c at 75 all day
