What do you guys use to clean your pumps?
Citric acid/ vinegar/?
Anyone use sicce pump clean?

Yes still use
Planning on pulling the skimmer and return pump to clean and in the process vacuum the sump

I like citric acid for pumps. I’m pretty sure that’s all the sicce stuff is.
I buy mine on Amazon and it lasts me a good while.

Are we talking cleaning while the sump is actively being used and sucking out detritus?

Easiest way is to turn off pumps and use a wet shop vacuum. More difficult is to use an external pump (likely needs priming) connected to some flexible tubing.

When I built my system, I built in a return loop. Shutof supply to tank, and return to filter sock. Stir up detritus and allow to flow through sump back to filter socks.
