Electricity is not cheap in SoCal! How many of us are running on solar? After last months bill, Im ready to make the leap. Im currently at an avg of 400-600kw/month with just a 70g. Im sure an upgrade is inevitable. How many panels/kw are you guys generating per month?
The house we just bought has a 9kw system, (45) 225w micro inverter panels. We just added a Neurio monitor, the highest Ive seen Is 7kw production. Currently we have a $300 bill and only 1 frag tank running. Going to replace the single speed pool pump with a variable speed which will help. Pool is averaging 2200watts/hour for 10 hours a day.
I have a 23 panel, 7.4 kWp system. Got it after I noticed that my electric bill almost doubled after I began the planted tank and reefing thing. Had 3 planted tanks, a 50 gallon reef and a 30 gallon reef.
Batteries are manufactured by LG. When the spec sheets arrive I will post a link. Not cheap price quoted was about $10k each. We are planning to do some traveling and the last thing I want is a power outage to ruin my tank
Hi Cody our system will cost 17k but I think it will drop down a few thousand after discounts. Will know for sure on wed. Theres also about a 5k rebate so in the end Im hoping to pay no more than 10k. Works out to be around 100 a month for a 600kw system

Will your system have the backup batteries? I'm tempted to finance a system if its cheaper than our normal power bill. I'm just hesitant to do it without doing the roof as well. We don't have leaks but I'm not sure the age of the roof and would hate to install a solar system then have to deal with that later. The winter was a little over a hundred but the last couple have been 300 or so. I haven't been running my 600 plus watts of T5's yet either hehe
