just about to pay mine today-- $90. Usually average around 70. 40br with too much equipment, 20 w/sump, 150w halide/70w halide sump, etc, etc. Really try hard not to run the air or let things just run(TV, radio, computers, etc) while we're not around.

I was just about to start cursing your name... then I read "tankless"
Yeah Wes, the savings are really nice and the extra free time for other projects is great..but i'll be honest and tell you, the enjoyment of having a tank really is worth the money that one has to pay in electricity. Can't wait till I start my next system :fish:

I can't imagine not having a tank, and luckily enough, my wife puts up with all the crap(and cash) that goes with it...

~$90 for electricity AND natural gas with one tank (55g), a chiller that only runs occasionally, gas hot water, fridge in Kitchen + freezer in Garage. I'm in Northern California in a relatively new (2001) home that is 1560sq/ft, we use an evaporative (swamp) cooler to keep it pleasant. A few weekends ago when it was 106* I was outside and looked at our meter vs. our neighbors... We had the tank fully lit and circulating with the evaporative cooler going strong and we were only using about 1/5 what our neighbor was and he wasn't even home.

Bill I paid in June for May was $106.52. The month before it was $275+ so I turned my air off and used fans. I have a 120g and frag tank, all use MH and is 675 watts. This month I am sure it'll be over $200. SCE just did their 20% rate increase...
