So I have a breakout of brown algae in my frag tank 48x24x6.5 yes shallow frag tank I know. I have a mp10 on. I started getting it when I went to black egg create. How would you get rid of brown algae. I have done two 15 gallon water changes. I'm thinking about getting chemi-clean (I have SPS and polyps). yes I have a protein skimmer and yes I have carbon and GFO in it and my phosphate is 0.

Add a crapload of GFO if you want a quick fix. I'm never using anything but rowaphos from now on. Worked for me. I just switch the GFO every 2-3 weeks and I'm good. And by a crapload, I mean way more than the recommended amount. I was running four cups on a 150g system. Hasn't shocked anything yet.

But with my Phosphates being at 0 what will GFO do

phosphate readings become inaccurate when it is absorbed by existing algae in your tank. I would not suggest adding an obscene amount of GFO as you can strip your benficial bacteria and have have a dyno outbreak that is very hard to remove. Im wondering if that is what is currently happening.

If it's algae I would try GFO just don't strip your tank of good nutrients/bacteria. If it's Dino I would do a big water change and then add some bottled beneficial bacteria, there are a few different kinds for different needs.

Actual black egg crate tends to leach off phosphate so its not impossible and when I say heavy its just feeding everyday instead of every three days.
how much do you feed everyday?

i'm kinda skeptical of people claiming they "overfeed".

this is what ashley used to do in my tank EVERY DAY, and i didn't have a bloom - in fact, it bloom after she stopped doing it.

LMAO thats a lot of food
you have no idea.

i blame Crystal. Ashley was super excited after leaving Crystal and Bogdan's house, letting me know that Crystal told her you can direct feed everything in the tank that has a mouth. you should have seen the mound she put on top of candy canes.

if the top of the candycane was a plate, this is what it looked like:
