how to overcome power outage from edison ?

how do I overcome power outage from Edison ? I have a notice from Edison that they will be upgrading around my area and they will turn the power off for a couple of hours from 8am - 4pm.

I have a 50 gallon reef tank .



I have battery power air pumps


question ? what another things do I need ? please help!

Battery pumps are a good start. If you have 2 -3bubbling, it should work for a 50. I would probably turn down the heat if you have it going ahead of time so you aren't at 85 degrees w very little flow when the power comes off.

I grabbed a computer UPS at costco to power my powerheads during that time. MP40 on one of those was good for like 8 hours or so, didnt need it for that long though. Probably want to run a fan with it if its hot. And you have the option to return it once done with it.

install a transfer switch near your home panel so you can run the house off a generator when power outages hit, small project but worth it

I finally got me an generator. Probably wouldn't power 4 tanks though. maybe just pumps and heaters.
