I got stung by my Carpet Nem last night while I was cleaning my tank!

Well the way it happened was I was just cleaning my tank, scraping the glass, and I was attempting to move some corals. One was a ricordea that the carpet was getting to close to and starting to melt it. So I popped it off the rock and when I did that my index finger got stuck on the Carpet Nem! I mean I've touched it before and its really sticky but never had a problem. So after I un stick my finger, I continue cleaning and scraping.

SOOO I'm like la dee da cleaning my tank doo doo doo doo doo... then I look down... AND I HAVE ABOUT 30 OF THE ANEMOME'S TENTICALS STUCK TO MY FINGER!!!! I should have taken a picture. Couldn't believe what I was looking at. So I ran over to the sink and washed my finger with hot water for a few minutes.

Its not horrible at all, but you can now see about 30 little circular burn marks on my finger. Yikes! Careful people!

A picture would have been awesome... I sort of freaked out a little bit haha... I had 30 green and neon dots all up and down my finger. Really pretty haha

Picture or didn't happen! lol I guess the stingers found weak spots on your finger. The palms and the underside of the fingers are usually too callus for the stingers to penetrate. Glad ur ok!

Ya one of my best moments was when my Tigertail Cucumber had split and I found one while cleaning my tank... I start yelling "Baby Cucumber" and my girl just looks at me and says "OMG you are a nerd."

did it hurt? I haven't really touched one, but guy at a LFS showed by touching it and i see everything sticking to his finger and he said it doesn't hurt and his finger when he pulled it out i see all these marking on it....he even offer me to try it but i got scared and said no =D

You also have to be careful of the little maxi mini carpets, they are pretty potent also....
