I think answering this question will spark up some debate/drama so I'm just going to tell you that my tank is LeeMar and it came out great! I've also seen some Cadlights tanks and I couldn't tell the difference between the two brands. I haven't seen a Clear Diamond tank in person yet so i can't give you a comparison to them, therefore I have no right to judge their quality or rank them.

I noticed the Visio was pricey... What order do the tanks go in according to quality?

thanks for the input! I think that lee mar seems to make a lot of people happy around here! i called them to see if they deal direct and he said that they don't and there are no tanks sitting in the shop because they don't make mistakes and everyone picked them up. haha

^^^^What he said
I have purchased 3 leemar tanks new and have been very pleased with the quality, I had 1 issue that was resolved promptly. I have seen cadlights tanks that looked pretty nice and wouldn't have an issue buying one. Others I have not really had a chance to see up close.

My next question is what experience have you guys had with the companies and their stands/warranty? I have heard that lee mar won't warranty unless you purchase their stand. My father was going to weld me a stand and skin it for less then 3 hundred in parts. should i buy their stand or have my dad build it?

That's the risk you going to have to take if you build your own stand. I personally do not like lee at stands. When I bought my first lee mar I had my stand custom built. Didn't have problem with the tank. But if the tank leak or split its on you.

Lately I been hearing a lot of lee mar tanks splitting. Haven't heard any from cad light but more people has lee mar

this is my worste nightmare! I am in a condo in san diego on the second floor. this is why i am asking so many questions haha. I know that no one can say truly which is better, but if i base my decision off others experience hopefully i can choose a tank with the least possibility to split. stuck between lee mar euro braced and visio euro braced. Also state farm insurance said they will cover the tank. thanks for the input guys!!!!

well good thing you're going euro. It all depends on how well your dad will make the stand to. I feel that many tank splits and fractures are due to improper set up although not many people will admit it. But if the stand isn't level and completely flat then there's going to be some unwanted stress on the tank. Also, bracing bracing bracing. You're better off overbuilding the stand than trying to streamline it for access options. There's some really great advice on stand building if you search the forum while still having a convenient means of getting access to your sump and equip. But i've seen people skimp on the stand on other forums and it looked like a disaster waiting to happen!

Thanks for the input, i will have to do my research. My dad is a very handy man and i am very comfortable with his work. I just need pictures and ideas to show him. He is just not very aquarium knowledgable so he will be building the supports based on what i show him. thanks again!

I'm a Lee Mar guy but won't hate on you for choosing otherwise. I'm not a big fan of visio though unless its a killer deal. I'm pretty sure you can swing some weight from whomever you're buying from to hook up a package deal. Father's day or not.

Doesn't hurt the resale value either if it's a popular brand =) But because its popular also means you're going to hear more stories about bad things happening. No one makes a perfect product 100% of the time and it's a shear numbers thing. People will rarely ever admit the problem was due to something on their part also. just my $.02

I recently took a delivery on a 100g Cadlight Artisan ii. It is still sitting inside the box and waiting for the custom stand that i ordered. The Cadlight seem to be well built and good quality, IMO.

I have seen both brands in person and to be honest, I cannot tell the difference...for the value...I pulled a trigger on the Cadlight 100g Artisan ii set up package.
