Just set up my first saltwater tank! My new rig is a 34 gallon solana with a kessil ocean blue a150-w light. The last owner removed the skimmer and went with a carbon bag. I'm in the first week of its cycle process and I have a few inhabitants that have appeared since putting in the live rock. I'm stoked to see some life but are they on death row? One is a hermit and the other is a coral of some kind. Do you think they will make it to the end? Is there anything I can do to better their chances?

Here is a photo of my rig. I'm planning to add another 20 lbs of live rock soon. IMG_1414.jpg

Here is the coral. Can anyone help me ID? IMG_1418.jpg

I don't see it...if you're talking about the blur in the middle then maybe its a feather duster (worm not a coral)

I'd take out that rock and roast the aiptasia over open flame like it was christmas, and then you can rinse it out and stick it back in.. :)

the aip isn't something you want in the tank.

Thanks Jeff! Not going to turn down getting out the blow torch for the over kill effect:target:
Whatever it is, it is no more.
