My wife surprised me with this new tank last week. A early Christmas present . It's a JBJ 45g rimless. I love the dimensions of it 26.5x21x19. My goal is set it up as a sps aquarium. I ordered a 6 bulb T5 fixture to light up the tank. How should I hang the fixture? As you can see from the pictures the stand has a lip on the bottom and top. I can't hang them from the ceiling, so that's out of the question. What would you guys use? Also I'm undecided on the rock work. Should I go with Tonga branch? Marco rocks? Sand bed? If yes black sand? How about filtration? It comes with a 3 stage filter media basket. Should I stick with that? Drop the ceramic rings? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to gather as much info as possible! if you go with the pipe, you can overcome the lip in the back by putting in 2 stripes of 2x4 horizontally.

or, if it's your own house and you don't mind eventually patching, you can attach closet hangers on the wall.

both will look kinda janky though.

Thanks for the input. I'm trying to make it look as sleek as possible.

bend a conduit bar from the back and over the top of the tank. Attach it to the wall not the tank. Congrats on the tank

Thx Jesse, looking forward to the pix. I was leaning towards the tonga branch.

Thx for the input Steve. I'm trying to stay away from doing anything to the wall, or conduit for that matter. Worst case scenario, I'll do the conduit and paint it.

to paint conduit correctly, clean it with either vinegar or gasoline... sand it down a bit, then get some self etching primer... after that, hit it with your paint... well, the vinegar will etch it for you, but self etching primer is great...

If you hit up your buddy newe70, he still have black lamptree from his old setup. That would look pretty sweet... Tonga structure all the way. Since your intention on Sps dominate go BB with losta flow...what are your intention with skimmer wise?

Thx James, I'll definitely hit up Steve. BB gets my vote as well. Undecided on a skimmer. Any recommendations?
