I just got the tunze stream 3 that i am excited to try ou to my new build. I dont think there are any new things out there offering anything unique, maybe the new gyre, but their customer service isn't the greatest, and cost is going up.

I like tunze they seem to last forever.
I’m thinking about the reef octopus octopuses ones I just don’t have any experience on how long they last. I don’t like gyres.

does anyone use closed loops anymore? I just picked up a 225 gallon tank and it has 4 sea swirls and was thinking about setting up closed loop but with all these very strong and efficient powerheads. it doesn't seem practical to go closed loop route. But if I do still do go closed loop route, what pump do you recommend. sorry for hi-jack

Hell yeah @bustayanky, go BIG nice!

@joseserrano what size tank are you running that tunze stream3 on? I've got 2 gyres and 2 mp40s on my 180g. I'm thinking of swapping the mp40s for a tunze stream3 to blow behind the rockwork since the gyres are covering the front well. Not sure if it'd be overkill. Looks like a great pump.

You can come by my place if you want to check it out. I’m using a 6255 , a Stream 3 6150, and a Maxspect Gyre XF 250.

I think with the pride of Powerheads now it’s not needed or worth making so many extra holes in a tank

I’ll be using it on a 8x30x12 frag tank

I ended up picking up a octo pulse 2 I'll give a review on it to see how long it last. It does have a 2 year warranty so that should be plenty
