So .. My rodi is 0 tds.. Got good flow.. Don't overfeed. And have a fuge full of chaeto.
My trates are @ 10 ppm .. No gha or other algae. I do run gfo .. But it's overdue now, need to change. But wasn't helping anyway :/
Tank is mostly lps mixed reef w a lot of nems as well..and a huge Squamosa clam( 9")
The red death is creeping over everything.. Siphoning is becoming a pita.. What have you done to battle it back?
TIA

Iv had good luck using chemiclean. Just take off the skimmer cup so its still keeping your water oxygenated. It hasn't failed me yet! How old are your light bulbs?

Thanks.. Do you continue to dose daily to prevent? Or just to treat?

I have new LEDs. Was considering the chemiclean.. But was nervous about how safe it really is? No issues for inverts?

Nope, just follow the instructions and it should take it right out. That being said these treatments are generally bandaids there is an underlying cause that is something that we need to figure out. Thats why I ask about bulbs cause you mentioned everything else that could cause cyan and they are all in check.

I've been using a baster to lift off then siphon.. But it's impossible not to miss some in the water column :(
No, i meant the air bubbles will attach to the cyano and go on the overflow but you need what Jerry posted

I personally haven't had any issues i have a large nem and lots of coral and cuc. If thats a concern that really worries you, read its reviews on amazon and marine depot. Maybe that will give you a better idea if its something you would be ok using. I use it about once a year.

Is it safer than chemiclean? And is it a forever thing, or just to beat down the bacteria?
I think it's more beneficial for your corals since it's not only for Cyano and no water change after treatment...You just dose while needed and done

I've used chemiclean several times on reef tanks to success. Just follow the instructions.
