Two very different tanks. The im24 is very sexy but yes many threads on random cracking. Hopefully IM has addressed the issue. My Nuvo straight cracked too

Nuvo may fixed the problem but I am still worry. Nuvo looks very attaractive in different way compare to Biocube. I like Biocube 29 because is deeper and taller. Thanks so much for the feedback

I went to a LFS and they had horror stories of the IM tanks, he was comparing the glass thickness to JBJ. But I went home and looked at mine, its just as thick. I think they may have fixed the issue on later production models, I do recall reading a thread on another forum of a guy having the crack issue and they sent him a replacement with thicker glass.

I have the Nuvo 30 and I like it, other than the fact that their own Ghost skimmer doesn't even fit properly in the god **** thing.

How can I tell this one for sale has thicker glass? I do not want this tank cracked and spill saltwater all over my wood floor. I do not have anything to compare on the glass's thickness

The 24 and 30 definitely looks great but I find the width of them too shallow. At 11" width for the display dims there's really not a lot room left on the sand bed after the rocks. That's why I decided to have one custom built with similar dims but at 16" for the width. Plenty of room for corals on the sand bed and room for fish to swim even with a good amount of rocks. Cost just as much as the 30 too.

The height is fine. It's the width that I find a little limiting. May not be an issue for you.

As for the thickness of the glass you can try asking the seller for the thickness and comparing it to any at the LFS. Or try asking at nano-reefs.com cause there's a few people there with that tank.

The first batches were the nuvos that I saw crack on the forums a lot and they allegedly fixed the issue in a newer batch of tanks. There some sort of indicator on the box of the newer batch of tanks if I remember right. That is a good deal though and if he had it running for a while you should be fine but I would handle it very carefully.

That definitely looks like a lot of light for a 8g. But I'm not much of a fan of the goose neck to a par bulb look though. I'm going for this on mine. If it's not enough I think I can easily add another strip or two under the heatsink.

Also on the 8g, I noticed that there is practically no tight seal on the false wall. Water can just seep through and bypass the filter media completely. Pretty boneheaded design if you ask me. Probably gonna drain it tonight and figure out how to seal it better.

Im not a huge fan of AIO… .I removed the false wall and drilled a 3/4"&1/2" hole to a diy 10g sump..
