The o ther day, i read somewhere in other forum about Uv lights can neutrolize the corals eggs that free-float in the water and restrict it from multiply. Just wondering if it true or not?

Those coral reproduce by budding or producing clones of themselves, they only release eggs and sperm into the water at certain times (most of the time at night) in huge spawning events that don't occur in captivity.

Aquaium UV lights can kill anything in the tank if the light is intense enough & there is enough exposure time. Spawning coral would probably need to go through a slow flow, high wattage UV sterilizer to be neutralized.

Most sps spawn, some LPS. In my tanks the following have popped up in multiple distant locations, so i assume they spawned: acros of all sorts, monti caps, pocilliopora, stylo, frogspawn, hydnophora

My uv sterilizer problem like said above is if the flow is too slow you start killing beneficial bacteria and food for filter feeders/corals if you're adding any. If the flows too fast you don't kill any of the parasites it's designed to do. I still believe it can do more good then bad but adding it to an existing system is too much work for me so I never did it and have not had any issues with parasites, sooo far.
