Is nuking this green birdsnest colony the only way to be sure?

I hate to do it because it was one of my first 2 frags (came from Dave), but it is outpacing the rest of my SPS and is growing laterally and all over the place. It's probably 1" in diameter in some places it's grown together. I seriously can't frag this thing fast enough to keep it from shading other SPS and I can't even give it all away. :) Should I just nuke it? Or is it cool enough to just live with? I'm afraid as I keep fragging it it's going to wind up in one thick trunk!

Head on shot - you can see where it's growing up the rock wall.

Side view - pardon the anthias, she has no manners. Note the 3 frags in the back that still don't have homes.

Top down - look how thick it's getting!

What would you do with a weird monster colony?

Trade it with a LFS... Many start with that type of sps as tester (like me) then give it away lol I would just remove it... Get something more colorful!

Just pretend you spent $500 on a 1/2" frag of it and pay a lot of attention to it. It will RTN into a skeleton in no time.

That is probably the best advice yet. I'll have to make up a name for it too. "LE Toxic Nuclear Green Dragon Flatlands" or something.

I'd take a piece of it try to out but I'm far from you ...
Well, if you get out this way I have nice big frags of it - and I still have more to frag from it! :p

I feel your pain. I'm in the process of nuking some GSP that's trying to over run my tank.

Meghan, is your gorg photosynthetic? How many different species you haven and colors?
The one in that photo is an ORA Grube's Gorgonian, it's photosynthetic but loves to eat, whenever food goes in the tank all of the polyps start grabbing it until it just looks like bumpy sticks. It's grown a ton since I got it. I also have a triangular gorgonian and a purple sea whip and some other kind I picked up at SPS, it's like a thicker version of the purple whip. I may move some or all of them into my display fuge once it's ready to go. :)

Yeah, if you're out this way let me know, I just fragged a piece for Zoarder the other day and there's a bunch more I can take off. It's a really great gorg, it's done well. Here's a pic of my tank where it's right under the birdsnest.
