I have been wondering if there is a difference in CO2. I usually get my tank refilled at a paintball shop since they will not take my new tank(s) and swap it with a beatup used one. Is there such a thing as "food grade" CO2? Is the paintball shop CO2 ok to use? What are your thoughts and opinions?

Thanks,
Brock

if there was it would probably be a lower grade then the stuff used for welding...Its all the same grade. I see 50,000+ pounds a day come in and out of my work..

I also wouldn't worry about the look of the bottles..

i believe the diffrence is in it's certification/inspection procedures employed by the dispensors...

I would bet, if they pay for the certification and inspection, they could be called/considered 'food' grade or medical grade...

AIRGAS has medical grade...I pay about $20 for a 10lb bottle...

(I think that is on the high side, but think it is probably a 'minimum' price/scale thing)

If the dispensary that you get it from has a 'high turnover' in thier product, I would bet thier equipment and gas is clean...
