Is this the right silicone to use?

Hey guys, been trying to get the right silicone to use on my tank with out spending 15 plus on caulking at the pet store....is this the right stuff it says 100% silicone and says nothing about mold resistance here is a pic of it

I couldn't find that one at home depot this is the only silicone 1 I could find. so your saying not to use this one even though it says nothing about mold inhibitors?

Ive researched this before and although it does not advertise the mold resistance. It does include those chemicals which is what makes the difference in the product. Otherwise both the "windows and doors" and "bathroom" products would be he same product. I wouldn't chance using that one and would keep looking.

In that case you might want to order some of the better stuff online, maybe a nice black silicone. I only I use GE in places that don't need to look good or were it doesn't matter if it leaks a little, like for sump baffles. I've noticed that over time it turns yellow or green, which might not look good in your display.

Hey Sean, I actually was at home depot last night. There is an aquarium sealant there but it's on the next aisle. It's on a small package here's what it looks like.

cuz of the weird setup they have going. Ii was on the sealant aisle and the aquarium sealant was on the super glue area... my wife actually found it for me lol i was ready to leave with the GE silicone 1

So I was checking out that link to home depot, and it says its for aquariums. but it also says mildew resistant. Is this one still ok to use?

True, Ahhh it just goes against what people say. stay away from mold and mildew resistant

what size of a tank did you reseal, and how many tubes did u need? think 1 will be enough for me to do the whole 24?

I bought it for my sump (20 gallons) I'm re-positioning the baffles to accommodate the skimmer. Removing the baffles was more work if you ask me.
