Here at Reef Lounge, about 8 months ago, we went direct and started importing the DC skimmer pumps by Jebao with a new line of skimmer bodies. We saw an opportunity to release our own line of skimmers so we began testing them for integrity. SINCE then out of the 20+ protein skimmers with those pumps, 5 of them have FAILED.
Pros - good suction and fine bubbles
Cons - bad pumps became loud after 5-6 months, 1/4th failure at 6 months - some as early as 4 months
Conclusion, great potential but high fail rates inhibited us from continuing on with mass production with our brand backing it.
Please be advise, this is a review or their 1st possibly 2nd generation. Supposedly there is a third generation....
... like the saying goes, "you get what you paid for".... which beckons the question, "is save 50% on pump worth putting 10-20K of investment on the line?"
