I had some time over the weekend to work on the tank....
Glued down the overflow on Thursday and did some plumbing
Re-did the baffles on the sump Richard (420Reefer) gave me and put it in place. Thanks again bro!
By Saturday morning I had it partially filled and with sand, my plan was to let the sand settle down for a couple days with a hob filter to get all the loose particles
but...
I had rinsed out the sand before hand so it wasn't that dirty
and with water in the tank I could not resist dumping everything in it immediately....
This is what it looked like when I was done transferring everything over, not to bad
I woke up the next day and everything looked great. No rtn on sps or closed polyps on zoas. Fish all doing good. The tank was also clear. I guess the quick transfer worked
As for the aquascape, I did not end up using any inspiration. I just started pulling out rocks that I really wanted to use, which ended up being most of them. I just ended up doing arches and caves like in my other tank. Only time will tell if there's enough room for corals to grow out. I'm happy with the tank though
That's it for now. I plan on gluing all those loose frags onto the rockwork this week. Richard also has to come down and take some pics, my don't capture all the crazy colors that the reefbreeder fixtures bring out. Other than that, I have to figure out what I am going to do about a skimmer and maybe get a controller later on
