Where is your sand bed. The only thing I like bottomless are exotic dangers!
You've ever lost a high end chalice or favia from sand...? I have... No more sand or 24" deep tanks for me...

24" means wet arm pits when taking colony out of sand... So i wouldn't do anything about it... This is way easier... And i only have like 4 rocks in there... So i can scrap the bottom pretty easily until crap starts growing on it... And i have a ton of flow that pushes everything to one corner to be sucked up... Seems pretty good to me...
