So who is doing this? I specifically want to keep two different species. I.e. Occ. and Tomato's. My Occ. keep to themselves in a corner (and won't go anywhere near my three nems). Figured if I introduced a couple more of a different species at least SOMEONE would use the nems.

Thoughts?

Sit down and I'll tell u a little story.
Shortly after setup I bought a nice pair of mis-bar GSM's from Fish collection. Then a few weeks later I got my old GSM back from a buddy. The mis-bars picked on the the the new guy for a few days then let him b. after a month or so the loner was allowed to swim around but that's it could not touch a single nem. At night I would catch him in a nem tho. Then a while later I got a idk from jeuse at the IEMAS meeting. At first those clowns weren't allowed to leave a corner then a day later they found the ritteri. They hosted the ritteri. The GSMs would go near the ritteri for some reason they were terrified of the ritteri. Well the GSMs had a strong hold on all the bta and the other 2 stayed in the ritteri. When I mean stayed in the ritteri they would not get more then an inch away from it cause the GSMs would pick on them if they weren't protected by the ritteri. Well a little bit ago I thought it would b a good idea to feed my nems goldfish. So I bought 10 feeders and put them in some ro/di water for a few days. Every day changing the water this was to clean the gold fish out. Well lets just say this was stupid. The day after I feed the nems these goldfish all 3 of my GSMs died. It started with heavy breathing then dead by night. I think the cem they put those feeders in attacked the GSMs nervous system. Well so on. Now the clown I got from jeuse have pretty much ruled the nems. But they still don't mess with the bta only the ritteris. So last weekend I bought 3 plain old perc's. tossed them in. The clowns I had punked the 3 so bad I had to pull them out. I'm thinking in a month or when I can find me another pair of sick *** GSMs ill get GSMs again.

Ive tried to put 2 pairs together and trios before of percula and ocellaris. It never worked out. There always ends up being one super aggressive fish/pair. It might work out if you introduce them at the same time and same size, but seriously the same size. Just a lil size difference will be a problem

:( I like GSM's but they are pretty high on the jerk factor. Hoping my designer clowns and tomatos will get along.

So far it's worked out well. My snowflakes want to kill them, but won't go anywhere near the nems. The tomato's have each found their own nem - but visit each other once in a while during the day - and cuddle all night in the rainbow. Stupid snowflakes still go and hump the magnafloat all night long.

Good for you , Stephen! There's always exceptions .. I have had a pair of GSM and percs together for 6 mos now... Had GSMs first so they were very territorial for a while, wouldn't let new pair go near any of the 4 nems I had. Took about 2 weeks give or take , and some rockscape changing ( and a penalty box for the female gsm) and then all was well. Never really look twice at each thee now, and both sets have their nems. Hope it stays peaceful for u :)
