That article has nothing to do with anything and is just speculation. Speculation with no evidence to boot. Nothing to worry about.

Fair enough but it is something to keep an eye on. I am not trying to be an alarmist, just passing on some info I came across.

thanks for the heads up Rob.

if they are using the position that these wavelengths of light have been implicated in macular degeneration, then why would they not be concerned about the fish having vision loss? it seems a logical step to assume that if it causes vision loss in humans, then maybe the fish will suffer the same issues but they go a completely different direction and suspect that the photosynthetic animals will be negatively effected

probably just me...

Interesting point and well taken. If the news about this drops off in a few months, then we know its not really an issue either way. Then I can get on with worrying about how much current my power heads have and how its forcing my fish scales to be inverted. Well, Im off to insomnia-land. Goodnight all.

Oh ya. I have been following them, but the wattage is still up there. And it is around a 6500k so you will be supplementing with actinic big time.

If these corals are responding and growing with LED's ... which is what I have been hearing and reading about...how are they harming the corals?
I think its a speculation and a cautious study but I don't think its something to worry about
