I wouldn't worry about it for a frag tank as long as you use wood glue to help bond the joints. IMO wood glue is stronger than any nail or screw. Most times screws and nails would be used only to hold the pieces of wood together while the glue dries. I've broken pieces and the glue would never split but the wood fibers around it would fracture. They also sell a bit that does that and doesn't require the jig but its nice to have a guide for clean holes

They say with this type of join, glue is optional. Its supposed to be pretty strong.

but then again, i'm a sucker for informercials.

I've used kreg for years, mostly as a quick way to build door frames for stands, not super high end cabinets, etc. but I've also used it to build a couple stands for a 55 and a 60. Decent quality screws have good sheer strength so I wouldn't worry too much. Agree with comments about glue, it'll be very strong.
