Just looking for your guys opinion on what stores have the largest selection of fish and/or corals. Obviously all the local fish stores have there own little collection so I am looking for the store that has a ton of different types of corals and or fish. I don't care how far it is (probably not going to drive out of state or anything though lol), I drive to san diego regularly so distance is not an issue, can be out towards LA or up north also.

If its two different stores that would be fine to. (i.e. one store has the best variety of fish while another store has the best variety of corals). Being new to the hobby I am looking for a store that has a ton of different things to look at in person for my tank. I am off the next few days so I wouldn't mind going somewhere to spend a few hours looking at coral and such.

thanks

(PS I wasn't sure if this was the right forum, so if it needs to be moved please let me know)

What corals are you looking for?
For sure I want some Hammer's, neon green toadstool, gsp, pink bubble, xania, and torch. But I know most of those I see people on here fragging all the time (Except for the bubble) but I just want somewhere I can go an look at a lot of different types. I'm sure there is a ton of stuff out there that I have never seen or heard of.

I've gone into Tropical reef fish store several times recently and I've gotten a little disappointed. The first time i went in there i thought it was a nice little store with reasonable prices. Lately I've been going in and continue to see an algae problem that seems to be neglected. I don't see an excuse anymore as every time i go in there i see no one working on the problem and just the guy on a computer. sorry jason, but i took my co-workers there so they could be the ones to pick the fish for the office tank and they gave me **** for taking them to the same store 3 times and only seeing 20 of the same wrasse. good prices, let me know when you're stocked and ill go back.

I was in there a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, didn't mean to diss the store, but maybe i went in at the wrong time. ill bring in a co-worker tomorrow, if he sees something he likes, ill buy it . This is for the tank at work so i'm letting them pick (unless i object). They don't know about fish, so they look for color or what they recognize.

Hey Alex!

Jason @ Tropical Reef Fish Store is a great guy and can get you what you're looking for...and he right down the street from you!
I go into his store all the time now. All the corals I have, have come from his store. They are really helpful and have a good selection usually

I agree... Jason (Tropical Reef Fish Store) is the way to go.. Haven't got TOO much from him but when I do, it is still in my tank now months later.. no algae there and 3 frag tanks..

As far as your area. Jan's Tropical fish, is ok, but pricey and not good frags (only a few or huge show pieces)

Montclair has a new fish store off Holt and Central.. they are still working out the kinks but by the time their grand opening is in 3 weeks. they will be a good spot.

& Global Aquatics in Ontario... Big warehouse store but REALLY pricey..
