So as i am working on setting up my tank i am starting to think about selling my MH and going LED.

I have read about some fixtures around oc that sell some decent fixtures for like 350 bucks.

So i have been looking around and came across these guys

http://www.ledgrowlightsoutlet.com/120w-led-aquarium-lighting.html

anyone tried these? or recommendations on a good fixture for not too much? i am looking for a 2.5-3w to go over a 48" tank.

Thanks
Adam

fish collections in yorba linda, ca uses those led panel pretty much exclusively which success obviously cause his corals are all doing well and he's had those in use for at least a year now... its all coming basically from the china.. same price and the guy offers a 2 year warranty on them...

I've been looking into RapidLed.com for a DIY job.. the LEDs are 3 watt Cree.. so the quality is superb and the par penetration should be as good as it gets... negative on the warranty part, but at least its not coming from China... at least i think...

i use a set from fish collection on a 60g cube. i love them. i replaced a 250w mh with the 120w fixture. the LED's are brighter, have higher PAR and look amazing! i have successfully recovered sick, and grown pink birdsnest on the sand bed, roughly 22" deep. the light sits 5" above the water. i will have these lights at the SDMAS booth at RAP if you want to check them out in person. and he uses them in his store.

Yeah i figured there would be alot of people at rap with led's this year. I read on RC about the ones from fish collection and have been considering them. I was also considering the ones from rapidled.com but am leaning more towards a fixture as i wont have a canopy over my tank. But i do like that they are 3w lights where as the others are only 2.5w, would 2.5w be enough, because my tank will lean more towards sps.
