leds vs t5s

Most people switch to LEDs and lose a lot of corals because they don't let their corals acclimate. They adjust it constantly and never get their corals acclimated to the new light. Blame the LEDs and then switch back.
I ran LEDs only for probably two years and never had a problem with any color. I lost a few corals initially but the. Had a serious run of awesome color. Growth was slower but I prefer better color than growth anyway.
Another reason is people do not add enough LEDs. They buy cheap LEDs fixtures or spread diy LEDs across a bar. IMO you need some serious power for LEDs.
T5s and halides are proven. Most reefers have found that the led/t5 combo will get you the best of both worlds

I like my AI gen 1 mainly because of no heat and no need to change bulbs. I dont frag to sell and am not into the latest named coral fad so what ever final color colony my frag ends up being is fine with me. Thats not to say LEDs dont grow colorful coral, Ive been giving away lots of trimmed pieces. I havent used supp T5 in years and will never go back to shimmerless, endless bulb change tank slave. My all time favorites are 400W MH 20k but even changing out 3 bulbs per year was a pain. I have a set of Radion G2s but am too lazy to install /acclimate to them too.
