Hey guys just wanted to ask whats up with my wrasse. It used to look spotted brown/beige like a well.... Leopard wit a blueish black stomach. Now it looks like it has lines and is blue in color. I read somewhere it might have changed into a male or something like that. I cant he a decent pic since he is so fast.

Is this good?do i want this happening? What will i expect in behavior and stuff like that?

wow yep female turned male! Makes sense. The males are a tad more aggressive then the female but really on a scale 1-10 its still like 1. Obviously if you add more leopards they should be females. IF you don't like it I have a female I would trade ya for it:) or Id buy it off ya, Iv been looking for 1!

Fish dont necessarily need another fish of the same species to turn. Just happens sooner with multiple femalrs. Lots of different factors, dominance being the main reason. Nice male they are hard to come by.

Ive had this happen multiple times with my male Potters. Ive added small females and they get chased nonstop. He was fine with a female meleagris tho.

I had a female meleagris which I believe is what you have OP. After 3 years it started changing and it was gorgeous. I was sad when it died. It became pretty qggressive as well after it did change.

LA Reefguy is probably ight on trying to add one now if youd like multiple in the same tank... but no guarantees.

Id suggest getting the smallest one you can find. Better odds adjusting to aquarium life and that its a juvenile female.

Sweeeeeeet lmk, but obviously i hope it works out for you. Unfortunately the male killed my female:( But just didn't make any darn sense in such a large tank and with such seemingly gentle fish. I recently got another female but i like males better lol

Is meleagris the scientific name? I know them as bluestars and vermiculite.
