So I ended up buying this generator and I'm happy with it after playing with it this weekend. I don't have much to compare but overall I'm very happy. It takes 1 or 2 pulls (most of the time 1) to start and it's pretty quiet. It has an econo mode that will slow the idle down which will also quiet the generator down as well.
I'm glad I bought when I did because it's not $549. :D

Does it automatically turn on if power goes out?

as much eye candy as you have, I'd be all about having a generator with an automatic switch if the power goes out.

Nope. I have my vortech battery backup until I can get home. I've had my power go out and my apex (via fusion) notified me that there's a power failure.

Nice - I still need to set mine up. Hopefully this weekend if I can carve out some time.

I have a AC/DC inverter for my car and if the power ever went out I just run my car in the garage and have an extension cord that runs one pump and a heater if needed.
